We hope that the following article may be informative and helpful to your e-zine readers, or on your web site. You have permission to publish this article (formatted to 60 characters, approx) electronically or in print. If it helps others "out there" in any way, then we're happy.
"We share what we know, so that others may grow."
We find witing press releases a most effective means of getting traffic to our various web sites.
When submitting a press release to a news media organisation, I use both a main heading, as well as a sub-heading (as in this recently published press release):
"PRESS RELEASE (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE): NEW ZEALAND AUTHOR DOING BOOK PUBLISHING"

Sometimes our jobs as marketers means we need to look beyond the obvious. Google, for example, offers their Google Alerts service. At first glance, this may seem most useful to companies who want to track certain searches within their industry, or to hobbyists who want to stay on top of changes in their topics of interest.
But Internet marketers can also use Google Alerts to help keep track of what's going on around the net, and even to keep tabs on their direct competition for that matter. Google Alerts, which are email notifications, can be created based on the top 10 Google news stories, but more helpful to marketers is the possibility of creating alerts for the top 20 Google web search results.

Imagine this nightmare scenario…
You check your e-mail program and it reports your username
and password as no longer valid. You call your Internet
service provider (ISP) to discuss the problem and they tell
you they turned off your account due to "abuse". "Abuse!"
you cry to the customer service operator, "What are you
talking about?"
"Someone used your computer this past Saturday night in an
attempt to hack into a government computer system. They
made the attempt at 1:20 a.m. from your account," replies
the rep. "Look in your windows registry for a file called
QAZWSX.hsq."
You punch a few keys and sure enough the file stares right
back at you. "What is it?" you ask, scared to know the
answer.

Technological advancements has brought the world into each individual's home and, therefore advanced communication among opposite sides of the world.
Email is one of the easiest and least expensive methods of communication that is available in the present day. Because of the ease and low cost, it is also accessible to almost anyone with a computer. Computer swindles are now prevalent, with few safeguards present for those that are easy prey. One such scheme involves the request for a sizable sum of money by someone who claims to be in trouble. The trouble can only be resolved by an investment from the e-mail recipient. The sender of the e-mail promises to repay the kindness of the recipient by giving back a much larger sum of money. These emails appear to have originated in Western Africa, usually Ghana or Nigeria. These scams have created a negative perception of how Africa and Africans are viewed as Internet users. This type of perception does not foster a positive idea of a global "village". In fact, the mistrust the fraudulent schemes cause creates a divide between the African nations and those with whom they might like to fairly conduct trade.

A continuation of an earlier piece, "Adverse Effect of Technology."
My earlier article entitled "Adverse Effect of Technology" resulted in an avalanche of e-mail from readers, all predominantly favorable. In that article I put forth an observation that "As the use of technology increases, social skills decreases." I want to take this concept a little further herein.

A Dean Phillips fan (her words, not mine) wrote me an e-mail asking, if I hate Google, DMOZ and Yahoo! so much, why don't I recommend an alternative search engine? I had to laugh, because I've been receiving a lot of those types of e-mails lately.
However, to set the record straight, I don't hate Google, DMOZ and Yahoo!. I really don't. Hate is such a ridiculous waste of energy. I do have problems with the way they conduct business–but hate them, no. My articles are merely an expression of my right to free speech. The same right we all have. It's just that I'm an extremely passionate person with an aggressive personality, and that comes through loud and clear in my writing.
